Welcome Kossacks

This post is a hearty welcome for anyone new who is peeking in because of my GBCW diary at Daily Kos today, as well as to our regulars.

First off, don't think that just because this place is called "The Progressive Zionist" that that's all it's going to be about. I'm going to write on all of the same topics I did over there.

Although Kos apparently changed my TTFN back into a GBCW, I am really satisfied with what went down today. After yesterday's incident, and all of the hypocrisy and inconsistency surrounding Kos' application of sanctions, and in the midst of Dont Call It's ongoing slander of me of which Kos seemed to have no concern, I think I made the right call.

I left on my own terms. Hell, I even had a diary on the Rec List telling The Troubadour et al. to get bent! Although I will miss my friends and those I respect, the rest of the scene there was just getting too toxic for me. I have always told other people that Markos can run his blog how he sees fit and if they don't like it they need to find somewhere else, and so I had no choice now but to follow my own prescription.

I think Markos is going to find that now that he's without myself and the rest of my friends that he's NR'd/banned recently, a lot of important fingers are coming out of the dyke, so to speak. There are significantly fewer hands around now to hold back the flood of irrationality, Paulbotism, CT, anti-Israel-derangement, Iran-regime-love, and everything else I discussed and highlighted. Whatever he does or doesn't do with that is no longer my concern.

Defending myself on Daily Kos against the onslaught of the Brechts of the world, as well as feeling like I had to play some part in holding back the afore mentioned flood, was starting to feel like a full time job. I was starting to get on the site way more than I should at work and in the evenings. I am now wondering what will fill that time, now that it will be greatly reduced. I am hoping it is something more productive and fruitful. Certainly the new blog will be a large part of it.

Again, I want to give a thanks to everyone who was supportive in my diary today at Daily Kos, and everyone else who has been supportive of me over the years. And for all the people who harassed me and lied about me on there - I hope you choke on a nutt bust.

  1. U mad, bro?

BTW, nobody cares about your hissy fit on Daily Kos, and nobody's going to follow you to this blog.

Just use one of the Team Shalom sockpuppet accounts when you're over your poutrage and ready to start posting on the GOS again.

Stop being such a drama queen and grow the fuck up!

  2. Hey Fiz... No fair stealing my stalker. This P.O.S. is mine, and you can't have him/her/it (whatever the fuck it is). Get your own...

    HAHAHAHA.

Anyway, welcome aboard. To date we have over 5000 hits on this site (pretty good for no one ever posting) I think we can really spark that with good people like you writing here. Heck our stalker and his KKK buddies will be peeing themselves that you have still have a forum.

  3. @Anonymous: Hmm.. You followed me to this blog within 1/2 hour of my posting. So I don't think it is accurate to say that nobody is going to follow me here, huh? In fact, at this rate I'll get more comments here than there.

NB: I'm definitely leaving that comment up as a reminder of what I am getting away from.

  4. If kos wants to have his site become a piece of shit, that's his prerogative. He shouldn't cry, though, when he becomes even more irrelevant and people don't care. After all, why the hell is the Democratic establishment, or any self-respecting Democrat, for that matter, going to care about a site that is seemingly fine with bigotry, so long as it is directed towards the right groups and is done in dog whistles, actively campaigns against Democratic elected officials and has an attitude that throws rhetorical bombs at our own side rather than being interested in governing?

The site has made its bed, so it shouldn't be complaining when it gets up with the fleas. And, as noted above when it comes to the site's treatment of minorities, it should be glad that civil rights law does not apply to it. If it did, the site would be on the hook for some serious problems because of, what are the very least, the discriminatory effects of its application of the supposed rules, rules which seem primarily to be imposed upon only overt offenders, along with anyone from a minority group that stands up to bigotry or our allies.

  5. Hey, Reuven, your ridiculous screed on civil rights law must be one of the funniest things I've ever seen on teh internets. No wonder you can't get a job as a lawyer!

  6. Hi anon,

How does it feel to suck at life? How does it feel to be an antisemite? Oh, and how does it feel for all of us to keep on beating the metaphorical shit out of you?

    Shabbat Shalom.

    ReplyDelete
  7. HAHAHAHA "how does it feel to suck at life"? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Classic.

    Good one man.

  8. Wow, he even changes titles of other people's diaries? And just when I thought my opinion of that peevish little brat couldn't get any lower. Talk about having zero integrity.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hey, Reuven, the sun has already set and yet you're still posting here? I thought you were trying to be observant. I guess you're failing at that too!

    Shabbat Shalom indeed!

  10. I think this 'Anonymous' might be Left Coaster. Previously I was thinking Romo/Choomin/Sal2012, but now I feel it in my trick knee. Don't tell me how I know, I just know. Hi Lefty.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @fizziks -- I don't think it's Lefty Coaster. There aren't one-liners, which is his hallmark. Besides, I don't think he goes that vicious, although I could be wrong about that.

    ReplyDelete
  12. fizziks - I don't think that one's intelligent enough to make it to the bathroom without getting lost, let alone find and post at a new blog...

    ReplyDelete
  13. You are a hero for this fizziks! Kudos. And also thanks for all the crap you put up with up to this point in that hateful swamp.

Kudos also to those who remain there against the tide. I think you should all abandon the sty but if you choose to stay and fight I am in solidarity with you (even if we might have the occasional disagreement about some point or another.)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thanks, Doodad. It's a liberal thing to want to fight the good fight, but we all have our limits. I think it's quickly becoming clear that if you're a self-respecting Jew who is willing to stand up and confront antisemitism, or you are one of our non-Jewish allies who do the same, you are not welcome at the site. Back in September, it became pretty clear that site had an African American problem. Now it has a Jewish problem. That's surely a recipe for success. Keep on abandoning and alienating loyal and core Democratic constituencies.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thanks Doodad - I appreciate that.

Like you said, I went out shooting from the hip, not in secret in the middle of the night at Kos' whim like Weasel, Simone Daud, Romo 4 times, and so on.

I was dealing with the hateful swamp well enough, but as soon as I realized that Kos was running the site in a way that I couldn't endorse, I had to leave.

I will miss my friends there though. But onward and upward!

  16. I have to say that I find the appearance over here of "Anonymous" to be quite INTERESTING.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Am I the only one seeing and smelling blood and brains hanging from his teeth?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah, it's getting increasingly toxic and Markos seems to have no interest in fixing the situation. No idea why not, but there it is. And there's only just so much that we can fight it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. LOL no kidding... We have our own anti-Semitic stalker..

Oh well we can have fun with it for now but later let's get to the serious part of real commentary and writing.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Corwin - well, it must take quite a lot to get banned from a television network, so the man clearly has very serious issues in many areas. That he lashes out like a child at those who point out his many shortcomings and the many problems at that place is surely no surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  21. volley - let's also not forget the many silent stalkers who've admitted to following us around other places on the internet, as well. Quite creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  22. No, creepy is when one goes through every comment a zombie makes and then documents who rec'ed what, right down to the number of times, to try and claim that we're bad people or something.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah, that too. Talk about taking Jew Counting to a whole other level...

  25. Well I think I know who our resident troll is... It is Don't Call It. I just donutted him for calling fizziks a racist. It seems he can't help but make the same comments in both places. What a dumbass.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yuck Jay. At least you didn't actual say the "T," word.

    ReplyDelete
  27. What a surprise, Obvious Zombie is also an internet troll and stalker...

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think, in short, it has become: TEH JOOOOOZ!!!!!

And maybe that's not his intention, but it certainly feels that way.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Intent or not, that surely has ended up being the effect though. Oh well, I'm sure this just means there'll be that much more ammunition to send to my elected representatives whenever they post there, and as I urge them to not participate at that hate-friendly site.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Howdy everyone. I hope y'all don't mind if I pop in on occasion. :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Welcome, friend!

    :-D

Pop in whenever you please, and be ready for other things to come very soon!

    ReplyDelete
  32. fizziks,

    Congratulations.

Now that you are banned from Daily Kos you will find that food tastes better... colors are brighter... mathematics becomes easier.

And, most importantly, one's ability to think is greatly enhanced.

    Well done.

    FrugalGranny, you are most welcome!

  34. Heh. Don't give the rest away though, Karma...

  35. Looks like the crowd is here. Away from Daily Kos is where the real information and discussion lie.

All are welcome to my site.

And there was nothing wrong with Daphne Anson as a source. She blogs in defense of Israel and the rights of Jews, and against the bigotry in Australia and elsewhere, especially the BDS crowd.

That this allegedly constitutes is right wing racism or Islamophobia to the DKosers shows how far gone many there are.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is that what dont call it is referring to? I have yet to get a straight answer out of anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I agree with Old School. I don't read that site, but I don't find it any more offensive overall than any of the hundreds of other things I've read at Daily Kos every day for I don't know how many years.

And when sites like the sick, racist Angry Arab are approvingly linked to in the blogrolls of even people who have been employed as "community moderators" there, well then we know exactly what we're dealing with there aren't we?

I'll start with the indisputable phrase "country-club bigots." We can go on from there if necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  38. We should already know better than to ever expect an answer from anyone on this, Corwin...

    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why are so many members of Team Shalom so unsuccessful in real life? You have, for example:
    Mets102, an unemployed JD who's never held a real job, never had sex, and lives with his mommy;
    Paul in SF, who actually has a JD from a decent law school, but now is barely holding down a job as a retail clerk;
MBNYC, a self-styled political/marketing/Web-design consultant, whose major achievements in life consist of a series of amateur-looking Web sites, and who I suspect is financially supported by his elderly boyfriend.

If you guys really want to help Israel, why don't you work harder at getting real jobs, and then donate some of your extra earnings to the UJA or some other pro-Israel non-profit?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anon,

It shows the quality of a person by how they speak of others. What an excellent job you have done to reveal your inner self.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Wow, Anon. You just can't quit us, can you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Incidentally, I notice that Don't Call It is now bojoed.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Poor DontCallIt / Choomin / Romo / Bugs / whoever this one is. This moron can't even come up with an original line of attack on his own, so he has to bite Mets' line, which clearly hit the little fella hard. "Don'tCallIt" a knockout blow, I guess...

    ;)

But yeah, these days in particular, teasing people about struggling to make a living and / or being out of work is SO fucking funny. Hardy har har.

Fantastic people you roll with, dKos team-P. How 'progressive.' Somewhere out there this morning, Ronald Reagan smiles.

    ReplyDelete
  44. So this is where you went eh....Lots of names I recognize including one who decided I was an antisemite at one point. Oh well it takes all kinds.

Looks like a mostly good bunch though, I'll have to stop in and poke around now that I know it exists. The arbitrary nature of the "punishments" at the GOS is annoying and has been for a long time but unfortunately there's no changing what we don't own so.....``

I'll still jump in and give hell where needed, if it gets me in trouble, oh well....I may have been there before and probably will again....

You should see my new (85yo) 30-06, double star gauged barrel and a factory scope mount on a Model 30 Express Carbine 20" with a Bushnell so sweet that even after it was too dark to see the target bare eyes, I could see it and hit through the scope....Factory sporter of my Model of 1917 made in '27, first year of the 20" carbine. I gave 5 for 1 and was happy as hell to do it....

    See y'all soon

and hey umm Anonymous? grow a set and put your name on your posts you worthless whiner, I may use a pseudonym but it's the same one for 7 years and used everywhere, I stand behind anything I write....unlike you obviously...Wouldn't you get more satisfaction having the object of your vitriol know who was telling them off? Must just be a scared little child masquerading as a real live adult liberal...

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well, it's not like we don't know who their latest incarnation at a certain other place (the now-banned-once again, obvious zombie Dont Call It) was, but yeah. That they can't even bring themselves to post under one of their many, many pseudonyms pretty much says it all, doesn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  46. yup, I'm a believer in pseudonymous writing but damnit pick a persona and stand behind it.

    imo anonymous=ignore on a blog.

it's basic reputation economics. Without that the opinion is worthless as there's no basis to judge from.

Not even getting into the comments themselves which is it's own worm..... only that one is writhing and twisting and kinda smells bad......

    ReplyDelete
  47. Don't call it was the very worst of the worst, and that he lasted so long is testament to kos's lack of moderation skills.

When he turned the site into a social network, it spelled doom. I believe it's best days are long gone.

As for pseudonyms, I use three, though never in the same place, and prefer to keep them separate, sharing the least bit of private info that I am able.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well, Dont Call It, whoever it is, certainly IS one of the most racist scumbags in the history of the internet (fantastic job, his one particular angry-something follower!).

What's really funny is that I called him out over two months ago on that, and OOPS! Looks like I got the little turd, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Welcome buddabelly and Frugal Granny. Great to have you two around. And I have to say I find it quite humorous that we have our own little troll. BTW, is Dont Call It the former Stupid Asshole since that whole thing about the vicious personal attacks (including my being unemployed and living at home) was his shtick when he did the attack on me with the "Mets103" handle?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Ah, good point. I forgot all about that one. Quite possibly so.

    ReplyDelete
  51. ** waves at budda ** Hi budda!!!!

    :)

When I get working again I'm still considering a kel-tek rfb. Very interesting design and unlike just about everything in its size range it's a .308.

    ReplyDelete
  52. ** sighs ** Kel-Tec. Not Kel-Tek. No coffee yet this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  53. By the way.... should I feel insulted that anonytwit left my unemployed ass out of his little tirade?

    ReplyDelete
  54. No coffee yet?!?!? And you call yourself an Oregonian. For shame, sir!

    :-D

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yeah I call myself an Oregonian that slept in... Jersey Boy. :P

    ReplyDelete
  56. Budda and Frugal - thanks for coming! You guys rock!

Well, I took a 50-question test on real property law today, cold -- last time I studied or did anything on the subject was 25 years ago, and I didn't know it worth a damn then -- and I daresay I did better at it tonight, answering questions while drinking Malbec, than our colon-polyp anonymous could do trying to write his address down on a piece of paper.

Yo, anonymous, the pen works better if you remove the cap before trying to write.

    Fucking half-wit.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well, good luck with the bar. Just remember, as daunting as it might seem, even morons can pass that test and you are very far from being anything approaching a moron.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh hey guys... definitely bookmarked the place I don't see much point in hanging around the big orange - someone wasted a gift subscription.

I see the usual dicks have come to join us already...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hey Corwin yeah that bullpup 308 is pretty sweet but then I have a soft spot for bullpups....I want their KSG bullpup twin tube shotgun myself though I'd trade my 308 Mauser in a heartbeat for the kel tec.....

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm thinking it's ideal for a bugout bag. 26" long .308. :)
