More Bigoted Statements By Ron Paul Come To Light

Some things are just so predictable you can set their watch by them.

As soon as the derangers started embracing Ron Paul, it was only a matter of time before some new revelations would come out about how in his extremism he has promoted homophobia, racism, antisemitism, and bizarre CT. After all, for people so far Left they are Right, homophobia, racism, antisemitism, and bizarre CT are apparently in the 'pluses' column.

Now, according to the New York Times, previously unpublicized statements of Paul's have come to light. The story has been further investigated by The Weekly Standard, who, say what you will about them, appear to have done the investigative reporting here that other organizations haven't.

Reporter James Kerchick tracks down Paul's statements from his former newsletters, sone of which are in state historical society archives dedicated to the materials of far right groups. While Paul claims that not all articles in his newsletters were written by him personally, he published and distributed them himself, and they all contain his name, with titles such as Ron Paul’s Freedom Report, the Ron Paul Political Report, the Ron Paul Survival Report, and the Ron Paul Investment Letter.

There are examples of Paul's racism:

“Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks,” read a typical article from the June 1992 “Special Issue on Racial Terrorism,” a supplement to the Ron Paul Political Report. Racial apocalypse was the most persistent theme of the newsletters; a 1990 issue warned of “The Coming Race War,” and an article the following year about disturbances in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C., was entitled
“Animals Take Over the D.C. Zoo.” Paul alleged that Martin Luther King Jr., “the world-class philanderer who beat up his paramours,” had also “seduced underage girls and boys.” The man who would later proclaim King a “hero” attacked Ronald Reagan for signing legislation creating the federal holiday in his name, complaining, “We can thank him for our annual Hate Whitey Day.”

And, of course, as predictable as the Sun rises, anti-Israel Paul is revealed to love antisemitic CT as well:

No foreign country was mentioned in the newsletters more often than Israel. A 1987 newsletter termed it “an aggressive, national socialist state,” and another missive, on the subject of the 1993 World Trade Center attack, concluded, “Whether it was a setup by the Israeli Mossad, as a Jewish friend of mine suspects, or was truly a retaliation by the Islamic fundamentalists, matters little.” In 1990, the newsletter cast aspersions on the “tens of thousands of well-placed friends of Israel in all countries who are willing to wok [sic] for the Mossad in their area of expertise.”

And general nuttery:

Another newsletter warned that “the AIDS patient” should not be allowed to eat in restaurants because “AIDS can be transmitted by saliva,” a strange claim for a physician to make.

Paul gave credence to the theory, later shown to have been the product of a Soviet disinformation effort, that AIDS had been created in a U.S. government laboratory at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

The articles go on to discuss Paul's ongoing relationship with extremist insame CT peddler Alex Jones, and various truther movements.

------------------

Ron Paul is a true right wing nutball, unfit to be anywhere near the levers of government. It is truly sad that there is more consensus around that simple fact at The Weekly Standard than there is among the supposedly liberal or progressive people who embrace him.

  1. No kidding... the guy is seriously off his rocker. I think that is why the people at MondoFront love him.

I mean all of these single issue nutjobs care about only one thing. BUT... Wnen it comes to caring about real issues that affect the U.S. like abolishing the Dept. of Education, or Dept. of Energy, or Housing and Urban Development.

    Nah... they couldn't be bothered.

    What a bunch of tools.

  2. I'm reading that Paul has support on the left but I simply don't see it. There are those who agree with his foreign policies (isolationist) and he wants to legalize pot but that's where it stops. I'm sure I could find out something in common with just about anyone if I looked hard enough. That said, the man has zero chance of being the pub nominee but I hope he causes trouble for them right to the convention.

  3. Check out some of the morons at DKos who support him or worse MondoFront (where they LOVE him)... All they care about is that he wants to get the Zionists, they don't care that he wants to wipe out the Depts. of Energy, HUD, EPA and others.

It is freakin' pathetic that someone who calls him or herself a liberal they would support this lunatic.

We need to come up with another name for him than just "Paul," to avoid confusion, heh!

  5. @Paul: Haha!

@leftnyc: RP has tons of support at DK, and is the #1 choice of Mondo. Also if you look at the comments section of that NYTimes article a lot of commenters are RP supporters. Not sure if they self-identify as liberals though, but some claim to be previous Obama voters...

Some 'liberal' RP supporters are in love with the anti-Zionism, and even more I think just see no issues besides the wars, or drug legalization, or whatever their pet obsession might be. The fact that he wants to eliminate the EPA or Medicare, and is a fucking racist, apparently means nothing to them.

  6. This is just a further indication that this man has not the judgment that his sweet message indicates. Bachmann was right about him.

Gingrich, on the other hand, seems to lust for power more than anything else.

The fact that the Republicans are such a sorry mess may prove the saving grace for Obama.

But for now, it's good to get a more clear picture of Paul's inclinations.

  7. I think you are right on that oldschool. This pack of Republican candidates are like parody candidates - the only thing is that they are all too real.

As far as Ronpaul goes, the droolers have loved him for years. Just look at any hard Right Wing Site... Stormfront, Duke, etc... they think he is the perfect guy.

But Ron Paul support is almost comical in it's ferverent supporters. It's like a religious cult.

  8. The thing is, the guy has always been the same as he is right now.

His message has a certain primitive appeal. Aside from the lunacy regarding the role of government and in foreign affairs, there is no basis in the real world to implement them.

He is not just unreal, but unrealistic.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @Volly - I'm pretty sure the children at Mondo-whatever wouldn't consider themselves liberal. They are one issue people and will run over anyone at anytime to get what they want. Too bad for them (but great for the rest of us) it'll never happen.

    ReplyDelete
  10. @Old School - you are so right about this sorry group being Pres Obama's saving grace. With the economy the way it is and the dysfunction in Washington, the time is pretty ripe for "change". If they had served up just one who was not a lunatic, they could have sat back and cruised but the teabaggers forced them to put the crazy on display. They created a Frankenstein and now have no way to control the beast. Bless their cold black hearts

    ReplyDelete
  11. More proof to the theory of Holiday good will... Look at us all agreeing here. I totally agree with Oldschool when he says that Ron Paul is not only unreal but is unrealistic. Excellent commentary.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Is anything he said factually incorrect?

    ReplyDelete
  13. LOL NICE ARTICLE GUYS.

ANY LINKS TO BACK THAT UP?

LETS BE REAL HERE, THE ONLY THING THAT IS TRUE IS THAT HE DOESN'T SUPPORT ISRAEL.

WALK IT OFF. EVERYONE IS SICK OF THAT FREELOADING FASCIST STATE.

    ReplyDelete
  14. All Ron Paul supporters are Nazi douchebags.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well Jim... nice to see you are a Paulist... Do you really support doing away with the Dept. of Energy, the EPA, and the Dept. of Education, Dept of the Interior, Dept. of Commerce. I mean really????

You should watch your candidates commercials. But here let me show his latest one...http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2011/12/05/143165240/ron-pauls-big-dog-ad-one-of-gop-races-coolest-commercials

Cuts of $ 1 Trillion in his first year... Oh yeah, that's sane.

Remember Jim, Teh Google is your friend (I said this to you DKos) just type in Ron Paul Stormfront. Hey their radio even endorsed him.

Now to be fair - Paul said that he didn't want their support, so what happened... all over the Right Wing Blogosphere they kept saying "Well we know what he said publicly but, privately.... we are hearing something different from staff"

Here is something from a Pittsburgh newspaper: http://www.examiner.com/elections-2012-in-pittsburgh/ron-paul-a-stormfront-favorite.. I would think you may have read that.

  16. @ 1st or 2nd anonymous: Hi Jim!

Yes, claiming that AIDS started in a US Govt lab is factually incorrect, for instance.

  17. Can't we at least get some intelligent trolls? Ones that know how to work the caps lock button? It's gotten boring to keep posting the same polls, year after year that all show that Americans strongly support Israel - it makes the Pro-P folks spit nails but it is what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well remember lefty, we are not dealing with the "brightest bulbs on the tree" here... These people (the one issue trolls) don't care about anything but getting Teh Jooz out of the land of "coltish, frolicking" bunnies and unicorns.

They don't care that Ron Paul's economic policies would destroy America, throw millions of people out into the streets and take our world wide presence back to 1840... (or maybe they do).....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Seriously. "Everyone" is sick of Israel? Is that why BDS resolutions are failing by huge margins. In food co-ops. In places like Seattle and Ann Arbor?

    ReplyDelete
  20. The whole BDS movement has been a massive fail. Apple is thumbing their nose at the nonsense and is opening a R&D center there:

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/12/15/us-apple-israel-rd-idUSTRE7BE0KT20111215

    ReplyDelete
  21. I agree that it is good to get past yesterday's argument, and a Ron Paul post is as good a way as any.

Fizziks's comment right above should include Apple's decision to open up a development center in Israel, the only one outside the USA.

    http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/docview.asp?did=1000706928

Guess the BDSers will have to get rid of their IPhones and IPads!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I will be deleting the AIDS comment in a few hours when I can, until then... it is fun to see crazy ass CT Theories at work.

Notice how the "Paulbots" (what an appropriate term) don't even address his crazy ass economic theories? You know why? Becaue they can't defend them... so they just say "Hey, look at that"

    ReplyDelete
  23. I feel a bit slow here but what does CT stand for?

    ReplyDelete
  24. They can flash mob everyone using an iPad or iPhone after they text each other on their iPhones.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @ anon: Conspiracy Theory.

Don't sweat it, we all have to catch up on our internet stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well, they can't use Intel products either.

The BDSers are fun, yet sad, to watch on video. It's where they show how much hatred some "humanitarians" can possess.

    ReplyDelete
  27. OH-OH... no Intel either... Oh well there goes that movement.

But while the BDS'ers are kinda fun to watch and mock, they aren't any more goofy than the Paulbots or even general Republicans. Now they are the goofy ones.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This now means that Apple joins IBM, Intel, Google, Alcatel, Cisco, and Microsoft in having R&D centers in Israel.

    Suck on that, BDSers.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @ anonymous... Kiss your comments goodbye... Ciao

    ReplyDelete
  30. Do people get off or something on trolling internet blogs like this? Seriously? To borrow from one of Arnold's movies, anon:

    You have been erased!

    ReplyDelete
  31. BDSers are worse in my view, as they have a rage combined with an overly authoritarian streak. Plus, they claim to know better.

Paul supporters are more off the wall. So in that sense, I suppose they are more looney to expect the world can live by Paul's oversimplistic rules.

    ReplyDelete
  32. They are both obnoxious and dangerous in their own ways.

BDSers have embraced a totalitarian ideology and are at the very least antisemitic in effect, if not intent. They are the definition of 'single issue'.

RP supporters are cult-like in their devotion. It is impossible to make them see RP for who he is - a fanatical, revolutionary right win extremist who occasionally says something about foreign policy or legalizing drugs.

Both of those groups - and of course there is considerable overlap - are obnoxiously self-righteous.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It appears obvious that some from Daily Kos just wish to show by example what fine people they are.

Since these comments will be removed, I suggest it's probably best not to respond to them so the thread is not disturbed any more than necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, we've all seen where BDS has said, either outright, or implicitly, that one should boycott products from Jewish Israelis but should buy products from Arab Israelis. If that is not antisemitism, I do not know what is.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The BDSers say MUCH more, which can be seen in many videos from their protests.

They remind me most of those at Durban in 2001, a story buried by 9-11, but no less insidious in its nature.

Durban is the parent of what we now see in full bloom, an effort that not only aids and shields the worst offenders in an obsessive campaign that victimizes Israel and Jewish collective.

  36. Paul in San FranciscoDecember 20, 2011 at 4:23 PM

Guys, don't be mean to the BDS'ers, even if they are lame, pathetic hypocrites with a track record of failure that rivals even that of anonJim. If you piss them off, they will punish you with a flash mob or a poetry reading!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, if they ever punish me with such a flash mob, I'll simply respond to whatever song they're butchering by working with people to sing the Star Spangled Banner and chant U-S-A! U-S-A! over and over again. I'd sing Hatikvah and Am Yisrael Chai, but I'd know my audience.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The BDS'ers are at least worth a priceless video or three every once in a while. The recent one from here in Portland last summer was an absolute classic of unintentional comedy. And if you can't even get a meeting with the people who run New Seasons, here in Portland, of all places, well yeah there's yet another massive fail racked up.

Also, I'd hardly call certain types at other places "pro-P," in that if they were truly that in any real sense, they'd pay more (or any, for that matter) attention to things like, oh I don't know, medical supply shortages in Gaza purposely imposed on sick people there by leaders of rival political factions within their own body politic.

As for the Paulbots, the only thing I can apparently see which distinguishes them from the LaRouchies is just that there's so many more of them...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ha! I've been to New Seasons! I thought it was a great store, although a tad expensive. And by a 'tad' I mean it makes Whole Foods look like C-Town. But I'm glad to see that they gave the cold shoulder to BDS.

    ReplyDelete
  40. And what makes their fail doubly amazing here is that they're targeting a store which is all about *local products*, and only carries like two or three Israeli products in the first place. I think they carry some kind of cracker, and a soap product or two. That's it. I mean, they might just as well start harassing customers and staff at the spice, herb and tea shop across the street from me because they carry one Dead Sea bath salt among their other thousands of products. Oops, I hope I didn't just give them an idea...

What they were really pissed about though, was when management removed a 'photo display' (40-some odd pictures) in the deli dining area of the Seven Corners store after numerous customer complaints (I would have complained as well, but I haven't gone to Seven Corners since they opened the Hawthorne store just up the street from me last year, so I didn't even hear of this until after it happened, although I shopped at Seven Corners for years prior to that). Anyway. I'm sure you can probably guess what the anti-Israel 'photo display' consisted of.

Imagine, people actually objected to having some group shove their deranged political grudges in their faces while they're trying to enjoy their lunch! Nuts, right? Eye roll...

This is why the derangers will continue to lose, of course. So at least there's some comfort in that. And nobody ever accused them of being too bright in the first place...

    ReplyDelete
  41. No, no one did accuse them of being too bright, after all, many of them are also part of Team Ron Paul or should I say Ronpaul...

All I can say, and I think this thread discusses just how Ron Paul and the BDS'ers compliment each other so well.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well, if I ran into BDS people at my local supermarket, or any store for that matter, I would ask them for a list of Israeli products. Once they gave me that list, I would tell them, "Todah, now I know exactly which products I should be looking for and buying. Have a nice day!"

    ReplyDelete
  43. Forget singing the star spangled banner.

    Sing something by Benny Goodman.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Erm, Al Jolson. Not Benny Goodman. My bad.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Better yet.. how about Yerushalyim Shel Zahav

    ReplyDelete
  46. That works, although then I'd have to learn the lyrics, which I only partially know, unlike Hatikvah, which I do know. G-d help me if I ever go to a game between the US and Israel or if the Knicks ever host Maccabi Tel Aviv again at the Garden. I'd be the one singing both Hatikvah and the Star Spangled Banner.

    ReplyDelete
  47. In that case, you can simply hope for a great, friendly game, with everyone shaking hands at the end no matter what the final score.

Because that's what international sports are supposed to be about, anyway. One thing's for sure - we'll, fortunately, never have to see an American wrestler quit a tournament because there was also an Israeli in it...
