Racist Pamela Geller at it Again

Cross Posted at The Progressive Zionist

First it was calling Muslims and Arabs "Savages" and during that time I got push back from the lunatic fringe and racist droolers who said accused me of racism due to the fact that they said I was "conflating Jihadis with Muslims" and that Geller was really making a distinction between the two.

Of course, given any study of her history, she was not making any distinction and really she was just trying to find some bigoted bullshit to smear all Muslims with. I mean here are some of her comments (noted in my other diary):
"Hussein [meaning President Obama] is a muhammadan. He's not insane … he wants jihad to win."
— Pam Geller, AtlasShrugs.com, April 11, 2010
and
"Islam is not a race. This is an ideology. This is an extreme ideology, the most radical and extreme ideology on the face of the earth."
— Pam Geller On Fox Business' "Follow the Money," March 10, 2011
and
"I don't think that many westernized Muslims know when they pray five times a day that they're cursing Christians and Jews five times a day. … I believe in the idea of a moderate Muslim. I do not believe in the idea of a moderate Islam."
— Pam Geller, The New York Times, Oct. 8, 2010
But of course, according to the Raving Lunatics on the Right Wing... there's no conflation between Savages and Muslims by Geller - she is just talking about Jihadi's... Including President Obama (/snark). So what his this hateful person done... She has put up the following ad in the NY Subway System:

Notice the website listed in this horrible ad: truthaboutquran.com

Well to that I say: THE WHAT???

First of all, she is quoting a passage written over one thousand years ago in very different circumstances. Now are there those who twist the religion to make this a central part of Islam, yes. But of the literally more than One Billion people on the planet who are adherents to the Muslim faith, this is just one of those passages all religions have that one looks at and takes in the context of the times and realities around those writings and simply files it as "Oh that is interesting"

But more to the point, why does this piss me off so much. You know why? Because throughout history MY PEOPLE have been victimized by this tactic. For thousands of years AND even today and even at this site people have been finding egregious quotes from the Old Testament and using that to justify hatred of Jews and Israel. I mean how would some of this Rightwing bigots like it if someone ran ads in the NY subways that said:
"Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban. Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses." (1 Samuel 15:3)
with a picture of IDF soldiers or Planes in action...

or maybe:

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)
or perhaps something like this:
Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)
and it had something like truthaboutoldtestament.com as a link...

We would be furious (and rightly so). What would be the point of that... Well it would be to say that all Jews are Savages and should be dealt with accordingly.

Hatred and bigotry in any form is a disgrace and while the First Amendment does protect our freedom of speech it DOES NOT protect one from "yelling fire in a crowded theatre" (so to speak). These ads do nothing but to inflame people to go out and hate and perhaps in some cases take action. These were the kinds of things that the Nazi's did in their run-up to persecuting the Jews. This is a tactic modern anti-Semites take throughout the world to justify their anti-Semitism. SO when I see this happen and it happens from a part of a polity that I am from I feel the need to denounce it.

People who are Jewish and Pro-Israel don't need Geller and her band of low grade morons to go out and represent our side. We don't need to take on the absolute lowest forms of hatred to make our case. This hatefulness serves no good purpose at all, all it does is reinforce separation and bigotry amongst people.
I constantly rag on people on sides opposite me for not confronting the worst elements of their polities and sitting back while people regurgitate the lies of racists against my side. Those who sit back and say "Well any ally will do as long as they agree with my goal". Well I say SCREW THAT. Racists and bigots are some of the lowest kinds of human beings there are and if one has to use their arguments to make a point... well that goes for those that would accept their help as well.

Don't this outrage stand. Though the MTA can't do anything at this point and though they have a disclaimer out - demand that this goes further. Ask that they put a stop to these hateful ads that do nothing but promote bigotry. There has to be something.

  1. That's hate speech. They don't have a policy about ads not using hate speech? That is BS.

  2. It's disgusting. It's hate speech. She's a bigot. She deserves to be called out on it. However, the Constitution does protect the right to be a bigot and it does protect her right to engage in hate speech.

This isn't like screaming "Fire!" in a crowded theatre. This doesn't meet the usual test for incitement. Therefore, it's protected whether we like it or not. The only solution we do have is to answer it with speech of our, much as you have done here.

  3. Can you provide actual examples of YOUR people (as if you speak for all Jews) in the last 2,000 years doing what is quoted in the bible?

Just how were the circumstances of the passage quoted from the Quran "very different" than today?

When was the last time you saw actual Jewish leaders and clerics recite the bible version as a prescription for action today?

To say this is unprotected speech is an absurdity of the highest order and should concern anyone that believes in freedom of expression.

To compare Geller, whatever her flaws, to the Nazis is Orwellian, as is the ridiculous analogy that implies that Muslims, who ARE presently performing acts that Jews of Germany NEVER did, are somehow facing a similar fate.

Haters of Israel in Europe tell us that the Muslims are the new Jews. This sounds eerily similar. But the distinction is large enough to sail an aircraft carrier through, starting with the fact that there are almost 50 million Muslims there, and that there is excessive violence and Jew hatred that comes from those communities, using Islam as their justification, even if most Muslims are law abiding. Again, when did the Jews have such numbers or act violently toward their societies?

    1. Figures you would show up to support the bigots. Only a matter of time.

Now let's address your comments and continue to expose you for the bigot that you are:

Can you provide actual examples of YOUR people (as if you speak for all Jews) in the last 2,000 years doing what is quoted in the bible?

First of all I am Jewish so the Jewish people are "my people" however only someone with the I.Q. of a Walnut would think I meant that as a possessive as if to say I speak for all Jews. I don't but I am a member of the Jewish people hence "my" people.

Second, Of course I can't and that's my POINT. Quoting things based on biblical passages to smear a religion was exactly my point. Now even a bigot like you would understand that you wouldn't want to be smeared like that. YET... you are happy to support Geller. Interesting, I bet if those billboards quoting the Old Testament went up in NY you would be oh so bothered.

Just how were the circumstances of the passage quoted from the Quran "very different" than today?

Oh I don't know how things could be different during the Islamic Imperial run in 632 AD from the year 2013 AD? I mean you don't see a Caliphate running a united empire right? Oh wait, maybe you do, because you know all "TEH EBILZ MOOSLIMS ARE TEH SAME".

Oh and btw, the term "unbelievers" at that time refers to Polytheistic tribes that occupied the Arabian principle not necessarily to Jews or Christians who were considered "people of the book" albeit wrong or second class.

When was the last time you saw actual Jewish leaders and clerics recite the bible version as a prescription for action today?

I guess you haven't read the Israeli papers lately or for the last few years considering extreme Haredi Sects. Would you like me to pull out some quotes from some prominent Rabbis in Israel. See unlike you with the Muslims. I (and many Israelis) also take them for the crackpots that they are.

    2. Part II

To say this is unprotected speech is an absurdity of the highest order and should concern anyone that believes in freedom of expression.

Oh good so when the Klan or other haters start putting up signs about Jews (because I know you don't give a shit if haters put up signs about anyone else), I am sure you will be right there talking about their right to put up bigoted and hateful signs. I am sure they will look forward to your defense. Heh

Of course, this is similar in my mind to yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre, but that is just my opinion.

To compare Geller, whatever her flaws, to the Nazis is Orwellian, as is the ridiculous analogy that implies that Muslims, who ARE presently performing acts that Jews of Germany NEVER did, are somehow facing a similar fate.

You ummmmm didn't put your thinking cap on today did you. Geller and crew did exactly the same thing the early Nazi's did toward Jews. Now, will the same result happen to Muslim's - I don't think so.. In fact I would bet a lot on the answer being NO! However, the actions in this case are the same in the early stages. Just because I see that does not make me think that the later stages will be or would be the same.

As for your last paragraph... I actually agree that is bullshit and offensive to say that the Muslims are the "New Jews" of Europe. They are not. But of course being the bigot that you are - you had to go out of your way to point out how violent the Islamic community in Europe is.

I would say you should be ashamed of yourself for your defense of bigotry and that hateful little piece of shit Pamela Geller but, you have no shame, just hate. You are no better than those that hate us (Jews, if you even are one). And honestly, maybe worse, because presuming you are Jewish, you know what the results of blind hate can be.

Oy . . . looks like someone couldn't resist coming to the defense of that hateful bigot. Says everything, doesn't it?

    4. Exactly livosh... Look for some other folks to ranting about this for two days as well... It should be pretty entertaining.

But yeah, it totally proves the point that these guys just love to hate and that taking shots at a religion is in their mind fair game. Of course, they get all squirrelly and their little panties in a wad when Extremist Muslims do this kind of thing to us, but, when someone on our side does it back... All of a sudden, that's ok.

It's just blind disgusting bigotry. That's all it is.

    5. Not supporting bigots at all. What an absurd remark. Just pointing out that terror back then was aimed for the same reason it is now. To make people submit or else. Are you really unable to see that it has not changed?

Show me some Jewish leaders that call for inflicting terror and genocide please. The fact the you draw an equivalence is troubling. If the Arabs had a MEMRI or PMW, do you think it would be full of clips of the most disgusting kind?

If you think that "unbelievers" does not include people of the book, we disagree. All are considered infidels in Islamic doctrine. And the persecution of Christians in the Islamic world accelerates.

As for the Klan, they can say what they want, even hate speech, so long as it does not incite to imminent violence. I am not afraid of the Klan. They are not out targeting Jews and Westerners and do not scare me in the slightest. Nor do the kooks that go to funerals. I do not like to see or hear them, but so long as their rights are protected, then I do not have to be concerned that my right will be infringed.

Geller's ad may actually inform some people who did not know that Islamic doctrine does support terror and a bunch of other stuff, too, like slavery, and it is still being followed.

The fact is that you propose to ban expression as if you are afraid of different messages. Do you support blasphemy laws? Do you believe there is a right not to be offended?

Overall, just from reading your site, the problem with many of you guys is that you spew hate yourselves, a lot of it, just can't see it because of your echo chamber. People who do not agree are bigots, deranged, haters, whatever. Only you can champion rights, and it must be done your "progressive" way.

It seems that the motto here is to never forego ANY opportunity to tarnish and disparage those who do not make the same echo. It's rather sad, actually, and this behavior is part of the problem, not the solution.

    6. I have to add, once more, that to compare Geller to the Nazis is an affront to those that suffered under the latter.

Geller is not out to exterminate Muslims, and the Jews of Germany did not include substantial elements that wished to harm Germany or anyone for that matter.

      Delete
    7. OH NO YOU DON'T.... You say:

Not supporting bigots at all. What an absurd remark. Just pointing out that terror back then was aimed for the same reason it is now. To make people submit or else. Are you really unable to see that it has not changed?

Yes you are... you couldn't wait to answer my post. You know Geller is a big YET... you feel the need to say that her poster is indicative of Islam. Again are there breakaway groups that will carry this out, of course there are. BUT they are few and far between.

At the the Quran was written spreading terror was part of the way everyone acted, not just Muslims. That was how you built empires... see Genghis Khan, the Crusaders, some of the Chinese emperors, the Jewish People when they crushed all who were in Israel at the time of King David... That is what people did.

You really sure you want me to do this:

Show me some Jewish leaders that call for inflicting terror and genocide please. The fact the you draw an equivalence is troubling. If the Arabs had a MEMRI or PMW, do you think it would be full of clips of the most disgusting kind?/

Here you go - Here is Rabbi Ovadia Yosef - spiritual head of the Shas party talking about a couple of things:

      On the Israeli Supreme court

These call themselves the Supreme Court? They’re worthless. They should be put in a bottom court. They, for them [God] created all of the torments in the world. Everything that [the people of] Israel suffer from, is just for these evil people. Empty and reckless… What do they know? One of our children of 7–8 years knows better than they how to learn Torah. These are the people who have been put in the Supreme Court. Who chose them, who made them judges, but the Justice Minister, persecuter and enemy he liked them and he recommended that the President would appoint them as judges. What, were there elections? Who says that the nation wants such judges, such evil [ones]… They have no religion and no law. All of them have sex with Niddot. All of them desecrate the Sabbath. These will be our judges? Slaves rule over us.

      On War with Iran:

“Do good, God, wipe them out, kill them,” he entreated, to which the assembled crowd answered “amen.”

“When eating the leek,” also traditionally eaten as part of the symbolic service for a good coming year, “and when we say that our enemies, foes and anyone who desires to do evil to us should be cut off, we should have in mind Hezbollah and Iran,” Yosef said.

“Destroy them God, obliterate them from the face of the earth,” he said, adding a verse from the Book of Psalms: “Some call on chariots and horses, but we will invoke the name of God our Lord, they collapse and fall down but are risen and gather strength.”

Or hey - how about this one from Rabbi Friedman of the Chabad Lubuvitchers:

"The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle)," Friedman wrote in response to the question posed by Moment Magazine for its "Ask the Rabbis" feature.

Friedman argued that if Israel followed this wisdom, there would be "no civilian casualties, no children in the line of fire, no false sense of righteousness, in fact, no war."

"I don't believe in Western morality," he wrote. "Living by Torah values will make us a light unto the nations who suffer defeat because of a disastrous morality of human invention."

Shall I continue or would you like to see more of this "brilliance" from our side

The same goes for the leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah, the PA, and on and on and on.

Do you realize how ridiculous this is?

Once more, if the Arabs started a MEMRI or PMW, would it have 1% of what we see coming from the other side?

    9. Further, to say that examples of Islamic extremism are "few and far between" is at odds with reality.

Other peoples may have engaged in terror long ago, but we are talking today. Geller's recitation would make no sense if applied to anyone else in the modern world.

It is ok to distinguish based on behavior. But since you appear to equate the bigoted Jews with the bigoted Jew haters, I am not surprised by the rest of your argument, which is more about your hate for Geller than anything else.

    1. Yep sandbox I do. Not as much in the U.S. but certainly in Europe (look at Malmo) and of course in the Middle East. There is a ton of "Jew hatred" throughout the region including in the Palestinian territories.

But here is my thing. I hate racism, and whether they do it or we do it, it's wrong. Moreover, we as Jews have been persecuted for thousands of years and so when we act in that manner it's even worse, as we know what the results of hatred are or can be.

I am making no excuses for anyone on the other side here but, I am not part of their communities, I can only be or act as part of mine. SO... I think we absolutely need to recognize what we are up against, but, being mirror images of that hate and bigotry is not the way (in my opinion) for our side to progress with things.

      Fair enough?

  6. Exactly, it is not a race, but a religion and a political ideology. To oppose the extremist elements which are prevalent, and in many cases growing, is not being racist at all. In fact, it is what is needed from more people, many of whom are badly misinformed about these matters.

Saying preposterous and transparently incorrect things about Obama, and having that associated in peoples' minds with the Pro-Israel side (fairly or not), is the kind of thing that will drive liberals who don't have skin in the game into the anti-Israel tent. Radical Environmental change is a threat, Radical Russian and Chinese nationalism are threats.

Radical anything is a threat (well may be not gum chewing) but you get my point.

There are ways to publicize that threat without demonization and the smearing of a religion. Geller is a step too far.

No one ever said this. No one. Not me and not anyone else. The point I was making (and I get that you are too dumb to understand it) is that one can take the words from any religion and twist them to make a that religion seem evil. That is what Geller and her drones (and you are one of them) try to do with Islam. I was just showing using my religion Judaism, how someone could do the same to me.

The fact that you just don't get it shows the bankruptcy of your intellectual ability. I am glad you posted this series of one-liners so that everyone can see just how wrong you are.
